Author Christopher Laird |
When did you first discover that you enjoy writing and wanted to become a published author?
When I was around 8 years old. At first I enjoyed creating movie scripts and having the kids in the neighborhood do short movies with my camcorder. I then transitioned to writing stories when I was 15.
What is your favorite and the most challenging aspect of writing?
Is the ability to become creative. I believe the challenge
is that making the story original, make sense, and for people to thoroughly
enjoy.
Tell us about your latest release.
My latest novel is Origins. It is my first book. It is a
science fiction thriller about humans and aliens in a brutal war. The humans
are losing and are about to be enslaved and killed. The war revolves around an
ancient artifact that the alien race is after. Whoever gets hold of it first is
in for something they have no comprehension. The story is a Indiana Jones/Star
Trek type of adventure.
What do you hope readers are able to get from reading your story?
That they enjoy themselves when they read my books. And
that they can immerse themselves in a thrilling story and they can separate
themselves from the real world for just a few moments.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
Franklin Dixon, Isaac Asimov, Orson Scott Card, Alistar
Renyolds, Dan Simmons.
